CANADIAN ALT POP-ROCK
Loud, vulnerable, and emotionally explosive, Victoria, BC alternative pop-rock duo Miss the Heart have built their identity around a compelling contradiction: the glamour and infectious melodies of pop music colliding with the grit, volume, and cathartic release of rock and roll.
Composed of vocalist Kiarra O’Connor and drummer Michael Voytash, Miss the Heart embraces the space between polished pop and heavier alternative sounds, delivering soaring hooks, explosive instrumentation, and emotionally honest songwriting. For O’Connor, that contrast extends beyond the music itself. With a distinctly feminine aesthetic, edgy glamour, and towering platform heels, she brings unapologetic pop-princess energy to a genre often associated with a more androgynous image. When the music starts, the attitude is unmistakably rock and roll.
Working alongside acclaimed producer and mixer Ryan Worsley (Dear Rouge, MONOWHALES, Fake Shark), Miss the Heart have steadily built momentum as an independent act. Their single “Know Me Better” earned them The Zone @91-3’s July 2026 Band of the Month recognition and landed on the Mediabase Alternative Rock Most Added chart, reflecting their growing presence on Canadian alternative radio.
For Miss the Heart, the goal has never been to choose between vulnerability and confidence, pop and rock, or femininity and intensity. It’s about embracing all of it, turning the contradictions into something powerful, and giving listeners permission to do the same.
